![]() These rifles served two masters well in many conflicts. I just love Mausers and even more so the Israeli Mausers. ![]() And they also acquired some Czech-built VZ-24 Mausers (They normally have the Czech Lion crest on the receiver). They also bought Mausers in 8mm straight from FN in Belgium (These normally have the IDF crest on the receiver). After WWII the Israelis bought many of the captured K98’s to help them setup Israel. The rifle is a German k98 converted to 7.62 by the Israeli’s. It has the winter trigger guard on and I don’t know if it was OEM fitted for the eastern front or was it done by the Israeli’s. The bore is surprisingly very good and the head-spacing was checked by a gunsmith. The rifle is still in good nick for what it has been through and shows normal character and wear and tear of a battle rifle. It still needs a good clean as the wood is very oily and there is some kind of lacquer remnants on all the metal parts. ![]() Hahahaha only joking I would never do that to a classic!!! I can now start the process of sporterizing it ……………. I have finally found the time to take pictures of my Israeli Mauser that I received last month.
